Cellular weave with raised pockets — light, quick-drying, signature spa.
What it is
Waffle, also called honeycomb, is a textured weave that produces a grid of raised cells and sunken recesses. The geometry gives it a large surface area at light weight — very absorbent per gram, fast-drying, and visually distinctive. It is the default construction for spa bathrobes and a premium-light alternative to terry for bath towels.
How it’s made
A dobby loom lifts warp and weft yarns in a specific over-under pattern that produces raised squares — the waffle cells. Cell size and depth are tunable; a deeper cell holds more water. Common variants are small-cell waffle (subtle, fine) and large-cell honeycomb (visually bolder, used in spa linen).
